Year 2007, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, Xing Dong’s pictorial representation “Seeding the Peace” is presented to United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency as the congratulatory present of the Chinese Government. The picture is made up of 5 flying fairies who are dancing trippingly and sprinkling the petal with height of 2 meters and length of 4.8 meters, which represents one kind of enterprising and harmonious spiritual plane and beautiful desire of seeding luck and desiring peace. This works will be hung in the headquarters’ hall permanently. This is also the only congratulatory present presented to United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency by the Chinese Government. Therefore, Xing Dong is entitled as the “The First Chinese Artist Peace Ambassador” by medias both abroad and home, it also symbolizes the significance of “The First Landmark in Chinese Art History”. |
On Jun. 26 1998, “Ladies in Bamboo Forest” was presented to the President Clinton couple as the government’s present.
On May 2001, “Maid of Honor in Tang Dynasty” as the visiting present of the state minister of foreign affairs Qian Qichen.
On Aug. 2002, the Buddha picture “Bayeux Picture” was awarded the golden award of Hong Kong Chinese Patent Exposition.
On May 2004, “Nine Maids Of Honor” was presented to Philippine President Mr. Ramos as the government’s present
On Oct. 15, 2004, “Night Dress in the Palace of Tang Dynasty” was presented to Russian President Mr. Putin as the government’s present
On Aug. 18, 2005, “Picture of Welcoming the Guests” was presented to Thailand Premier Haskin as the government’s present
In Sep. 2007, the works “Seeding the Peace” was presented to United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency
On Sep. 20, 2007, “Guest Visiting Picture” was presented to Korean consulate general in China as the government’s present.
Xing Dong, word, Tang Long, was born in 1962 in Xi’an, Shaanxi. He is good at painting with meticulous detail, sketch flower and bird painting, figure, landscape painting. He has formed the works series with the topic of the culture of Tang Dynasty since the age of 40.
His works ever obtained special prize of honor in International Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition held by Culture Ministry of P.R.C., the first prize of traditional Chinese painting of youthfulness group in International Calligraphic Painting Seal Cutting Competition, the golden award in The First Chinese Tourism Artwork Competition and any other awards.
Many works are compiled into “The Artists in modern China”, “The Contemporary Artists’ Works Appreciation”, over 300 painting and calligraphy works are published in newspapers and periodicals and professional journal at home and abroad, including four kinds of illustrated edition in “Search for Mythic Gods”, “Flower Skill Methods”, “The Brushwork of Peacock” etc.
Xing Dong’s brushwork has been ranked into the state guest level present of Chinese government gradually since 1998 with the unique works characteristic, and he becomes the artist with unique feature. His works were presented to over 30 foreign summit bigwigs successively including President Clinton, Russian President Putin, Philippine President Ramos etc. The works also are collected by the institutions such as Zhong Nan Hai, Great Hall of the People, Protocol Department Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, the headquarter of Bank of China, Museum of Chinese History, Chinese Picture Gallery, Shaanxi Historical Museum, Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, British Museum, Japanese Tokyo Museum etc.
Xing Dong’s works stick by the tradition while carrying forward the tradition on pictorial skill, which are the refined drawings but fail to lose the great master’s style. The fresh and unique works theme is different from those of the other artist’s works and is immeasurable in market prospect.
